3 NEW DINING SPOTS IN YYC THAT YOU NEED TO TRY ASAP

Time to Get Your Foodie On

As we’ve learned throughout the past year, supporting our local businesses is more important than ever - which isn’t all that hard to do when it comes to enjoying delicious food and beverages in welcoming spaces! Calgary is loaded with unique, locally owned restaurants and cafes, with even more having opened their doors recently. Although in-person dining will be shut down for the next few weeks due to the new COVID-19 restrictions, many restaurants will still be serving takeout and deserve every bit of support we can give them. Here are just a few new food and drink stops that you need to check out ASAP!

CALAVERA CANTINA

If you’re a fan of mouthwatering tacos and insanely aesthetically pleasing cocktails, Calavera Cantina is what dreams are made of. Fresh to the Calgary scene, this southeast hotspot serves up Mexican street food favourites, a range of tequila, and some of the most instagrammable cocktails in the city. And let’s not forget the churros for dessert!

RENDESVOUZ

Rendesvouz is giving YYC’s nightlife a sophisticated fresh look with their unique lounge and killer dance floor. Enjoy locally sourced Canadian cuisine with a cosmopolitan flair, sip on a variety of cocktails, whiskey’s and wines, and then make your way to a light up dance floor where you can dance the night away with live entertainment each week. Although you’ll have to wait just a bit longer to live it up on the dance floor until restrictions are lifted, be sure to check out their takeout menu!

MONDAY'S PLANT CAFE

Formerly known as the Raw Eatery & Market, this cafe now lives on as Monday’s Plant Cafe with an inviting new space located in Bridgeland - and it may just become your new favourite spot. In addition to the comforting atmosphere, Monday’s Plant Cafe serves up delicious, plant-based meals and small bites that will make you drool at first sight (and bite!). Bonus: they’re big on supporting local, carrying products from fellow YYC businesses to shop for while you wait for your order. Need we say more?
